Earth Moves

The Bugdelphi Hotel is an artistically designed luxury retreat for insects, thoughtfully crafted to provide shelter and habitat for a wide variety of bugs. Families from the local community helped to construct this interactive structure, making it a collaborative artwork that combines creativity with environmental action.

Filled with tiny furniture for fairies and bugs, along with sticks, crevices, and natural materials, the hotel invites children and adults alike to imagine the hidden world of the smallest creatures. Positioned facing the lane, it encourages visitors to pause, explore, and appreciate the importance of biodiversity.

The beautifully hand-painted sign by Lo Tierney gives the project the clarity, character, and touch of glamour it deserves, transforming the Bugdelphi Hotel into both a functional wildlife habitat and a whimsical piece of community art.

Children continue to add to the piece bringing toys and creating characters to live in the hotel alongside the insect residents.
