Dream in peace

Tina Buckley and Earth Moves Community (2026).

The raised bed is a reclaimed white metal bed frame pressed into the ground, entwined with climbing roses, symbolizing recovery, remembrance, and peace after hardship.

The bed represents both rest and transformation. A place once associated with confinement and suffering becoming a space of healing, growth, and renewal. Emerging from the structure, the roses weave through the metal frame like memories and life itself, showing how beauty and hope can grow through even the harshest experiences.

The piece reflects the journey of release from prison, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually. It honours those who have struggled, those who sleep in peace, and the ancestors whose lives and stories still shape and inspire us. The white bed frame evokes purity, rest, and reconciliation with the past, while the living plants reconnect the work to the earth, cycles of nature, and community healing.

As a raised-bed installation, it becomes both a sculpture and a living ecosystem, a place where flowers, herbs, or food may grow, symbolizing that recovery is not passive but is nurtured over time.

The work invites reflection on freedom, dignity, ancestry, and the possibility of transformation through care, memory, and connection to the land. It has invited our volunteers to plant roses among the bed in remembrance to those lost.
