Mersey Moving Together

We are running 50 events in 2026 help people on the Wirral get moving for mental and physical health.

 

These free events designed to be accessible to everyone, with chair-based options and other slower ways of moving available at each event. Our program of events has been co-designed with our volunteers.

 

From an ABBA dance party to Zumba, Tai Chi, and green gym gardening for exercise, there's loads going on, and something for everyone.

 

As well as getting you moving, you will get the chance to meet people in your local area and spend time outdoors in nature at our beautiful community garden.

This project is based on a pilot in 2025 and is funded thanks to Sport England.

Join us for a joyful programme of free, accessible fitness and wellbeing activities in nature.

Mersey Moving Together is a community-led programme funded by Sport England, designed to help people of all abilities move more, feel better, and connect with others in a supportive outdoor space.

​

Taking place in our beautiful community garden, this programme blends nature, movement, creativity, and connection — with sessions designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and adaptable for disabled people and those with additional access needs.

  • Irish Céilí Dance – a fun, social way to get moving together

  • Community Wellbeing Movement – connect with yourself, others, and nature

  • Gardening for Physical Fitness – build strength while growing food

  • 80s Goth Dance Session – expressive movement for all ages and abilities

  • Zumba & Inclusive Fitness – energising and feel-good workouts

  • Tai Chi in Nature – gentle, mindful movement outdoors

  • Abba Dance Party – learn a routine to Mamma Mia!

  • Bollywood Dance Workshop – vibrant movement for joy and fitness

  • Green Gym Sessions – stretch, breathe, and connect with the environment

  • Outdoor 90s-Style Daytime Rave (Over 40s) – fun, sober, high-energy movement

  • Show & Community Celebration Day (August 1st) – a joyful gathering of movement, creativity, and community
