Earth Moves

Collaboratively created by artist Tony O’Connell with the Earth Moves Community.

The Belisama mural on the side of the container depicts the Goddess of the Mersey and is based on Walter Crane's image, which symbolises abundance, land rights for the people, and the divine feminine.

 

 

The original image has been altered so that she holds symbols reminiscent of working the land, as well as broader spiritual and early-socialist meanings. 

​

 

The mural was painted with salvaged and recycled ends of old paint stock that have survived remarkably well amid changing heat, wind, and moisture.
