Embodied Conversations with Our Planet (2024). Paula Ishtar and Disability Inclusive Performance Group

The Disability-Inclusive Performance group responded to the touring Gaia Installation by UK artist Luke Jerram. Unfolding across the natural beauty of Birkenhead Park and the Earth Moves site at Telegraph Lane, this immersive community arts experience invited people of all ages, bodies, and abilities to connect through movement, nature, and shared expression.

Inspired by the rhythms, textures, memories, and energies of the Earth Moves Ecological Gardens, participants explored movement as conversation — with each other, with the environment, and with the site's living history. The piece encouraged people to listen deeply to the spaces around them: the trees, soil, wind, wildlife, pathways, and changing seasons, transforming appreciation for nature into embodied artistic expression.

The work celebrated diversity, collective care, environmental awareness, and the healing relationship between people and place.  The work encourages appreciation for the environment through creativity, movement and collective imagination.
