Movement for Wellbeing
Four weekly sessions
This workshop is a collaboration of Earth Moves and Wirral Lifelong Learning.
This course provides an introduction and overview of a variety of movement for wellbeing styles that are accessible to most people.
The course will include tasters of theory and practise from a variety of dance and yoga styles and include moving meditation practice. We will also include a guided coastal walk.
Scientific data shows how movement is essential to mental and physical wellbeing. Much research is done to conclude that dance prevents Alzheimer's and causes brain changes that improve mental health and concentration. Connecting with nature through walking has deep effects on mental and physical health.
We will invite learners to engage with a range of somatic methods, discussions, and practices
Not everyone can go to the gym or wants to. Places like this do not encourage theoretical discussion or connection to others.
We will include basic wellbeing research.
The course will be presented using a blended learning approach, which will include Zoom sessions and social distancing walking. We may also have a movement session outdoors, depending on COVID restrictions.

This course provides an introduction and overview of positive psychology that is accessible to most people.
An introductory, diversity sensitive course, that provides an overview of psychology that has applications that are useful and accessible.
Learners will have the opportunity to sample in 2-hour bites. Practical and achievable psychological strategies to promote resilience, self-understanding, and confidence. We will show how being happy is often connected to a sense of community.

Complete beginners welcome.
Your tutor Paula Staunton, has a Masters of Science in Transpersonal Psychology, Consciousness and Spirituality, and a BA in Psychology and Women's Studies. She is a qualified teacher for adults and has professional qualifications in holistic therapies.

Tasters of various types of meditation are taught with theoretical components and practical applications including enhanced performance in job interviews, anxiety management and generally improving life skills and health, in an inclusive and friendly environment.
Meditation can be life changing effecting all areas of life. Symptoms of IBS, insomnia, anxiety, depression and many other conditions can be helped by meditation.

We do a variety of styles of meditation and relaxation techniques, including mindfulness, visualisation. chanting, moving meditation and journeying.
We look at theory and practice. The aim is to give you choice and options that best suit you.
Come and meet like-minded friendly people. Improve your mental .physical and social health.
Scientific evidence now shows empirically, how meditation can help with improving focus, confidence relaxation, as well as many other well-being benefits.

This workshop focuses on those who are looking for volunteer roles in organisations that focus on environmental projects or those who are ultimately aiming to find work or educational programs in these fields.
The day is for people of all levels of education and experience and aims to provide something for everyone.
This workshop is also for those who want to find out more about the following;

This workshop is also for those who want to find out more about the following;
•This is a 6hr course and consists of 3 sessions.
•The course is a mixture of theory and practical activities.
•The course endeavours to build and develop resilience and psychological adaption to challenging times.
•We will look at a variety of practical methods. We will learn techniques in breathing, focusing the mind, body posture, movement and nature immersion. We will look at various psychological systems and how to apply them to help ourselves and our families.
The course aims to share information about stress and positive psychology – How stress manifests itself (symptoms to look for) and how we can address this.
2)To look at how stress affects people physically and psychologically as well as emotionally. We will identify physiological/psychological theories.
We will introduce a wide range of exercises to help various aspects of stress and improve mood.
The course is a mix of information and practical activities in the field.

The course is a basic introduction to what creates a healthy mental state in children.
This is part two but you do not need to have enrolled on part one to do this course, as it requires no prior information.
Everyone wants the best for their children this course looks at ways to treat children that bring out the best in them.
The course will look at nature-nurture issues; child development; good parenting; positive psychology; and a cursory look at a selection of child mental health conditions.
Mental health problems that begin in childhood and adolescence can have a range of damaging influences on individuals, families, and communities, these can continue into adult life unless properly addressed.
What we will cover;
An introduction to child psychology and child mental health
The power of good parenting.
Nature-nurture, what we are born with, and how our environment shapes us.
An introduction to the causes and treatment of child mental health conditions.
An introduction to Positive Psychology. Ideas to implement good mental health in children and families.
This event will take place on Zoom. You will be sent the course material you can keep.
